We say goodbye to Marco & Jason

Posted on: 9th November 2012

Marco & Jason has finished their school careers and are spreading their wings. We want to thank both of them for being loyal members of the Louis 57 Junior Golf Academy and we wish them all the best with their golfing careers and further studies.

Thank you Louis

"Hi Louis,

This is just a short note to thank you on behalf of Southern Cape Junior Golf for your kind sponsorship of the prizes at our Order of Merit event held at Mossel Bay. The photos attached are of all the prize winners and perhaps someday they may follow in your footsteps! Out of interest the U19 division gross medal winner won on a score of 72 and the U13 division gross medal winner won on a score of 69.

Further you will be glad to know that the U19 Southern Cape team won the triangular at Riversdale (Western Province, Boland and Southern Cape), they won the Hexangular (WP, EP, Boland, Free state and Southern Cape) and we believe we have a good chance of winning the IPT this year, which will put us in the A section again.

I looking forward to supporting you at the Nedbank Million Dollar this year!"

Kind regards,

Stephen Murray

Michael Thorbjornsen of Wellesley, Mass., began and ended his round as a champion should, with birdies on Nos. 1, 2, 17 and 18 at Little River Golf Resort. His two closing birdies were enough to lead the boys 10 division by one stroke at the end of the day.

The division played Pinehurst No. 8 at 5,150 yards.

Thorbjornsen trailed by three strokes entering the final round, but led by the time he finished playing No. 2. He had at least a share of the lead for the rest of the day, as he and Martin Vorster of Mossel Bay, South Africa, battled for the lead. They were tied before Thorbjornsen’s birdie on No. 17, and both players birdied No. 18. Thorbjornsen finished the tournament at 6-under-par 210.

Vorster finished a shot behind at 5-under-par 211. The two separated themselves from the field significantly, as Dylan Fritz of Las Vegas, Joseph Pagdin of Orlando, and Robintiger Williams of Peterborough, South Africa, tied for third place at 1-over-par 217.
